Note

Eye Response (E)

The eye does not react and remains closed despite being given painful stimuli.

The eye opens after receiving painful stimuli.

The eye opens after hearing a sound or being able to follow a command to open the eye.

The eye opens spontaneously.

Verbal Response (V)

No sound is produced even when called or given stimuli.

The sound emitted is a moan without clear words.

The sound is heard unclearly or only produces words, but not clear sentences.

The sound is heard and able to answer questions, but the person appears confused or the conversation is not fluent.

Speaking normally.

Motoric Response (M)

There is no body movement at all, even when given painful stimuli.

Abnormal arm extension when given painful stimuli.

Abnormal arm flexion when given painful stimuli.

Able to move the body away from the source of pain when given painful stimuli.

Able to indicate the location of pain.

Able to perform body movements according to commands.
